Waking up naturally …

Laying in bed yesterday I woke up early and was wide awake. It was dark 4am and I often lay in bed and pray or meditate but yesterday I forced myself back to sleep. My guides were suggesting morning pages, cleaning, working out, my mind was spinning. Nooo, I thought, I have to work soon. I want to go back to sleep!! So, I did. I work up a few hours later feeling like a truck hit me. I was exhausted and confused and my whole body ached. This happens enough that I asked my Guides AND MY BODY!? WHY! Why do I feel like this? (I have said this often, many times before, but today I listened)

My guides explained that forcing yourself back to sleep after waking naturally- is a signal to the reptilian/cave brain that something is wrong. It is a fight, flight, freeze response. Like Hibernation we wake when it is SAFE. In our DNA we carry triggers from our ancestors. If we go back to sleep it is a signal that something is dangerous or not safe- cold, lions, tigers, bears, etc .. so when we go back to sleep after our normal body asks us to rise we are releasing a stress hormone telling our bodies its not SAFE to be up, thus when we wake up we feel drugged….we are! Our brain told us to shut down and play dead for safety… if we don’t naturally sleep that off and have an alarm wake us up we are waking in a state of fight, flight, freeze!

It blew my mind, it makes total sense.

I talk to my guides ALL the time… but today I asked and LISTENED…

A reminder to ” Listen to really Listen”
