This season has looked a little different than I originally imagined.
Normally, I host a Summer Solstice gathering and carefully plan my moon events. At first, I felt disappointed that this year’s schedule didn’t line up the way I expected. But Spirit has reminded me that life doesn’t always unfold according to our plans—and sometimes our soul has something even more joyful in mind.
This month, I opened in CLUE and will be back on stage again next weekend. Theater has always been one of my greatest loves, and stepping into the role of Ms Scarlet has taught me some unexpected lessons.
Ms Scarlet has been reminding me:
❤️ Self-care matters.
❤️ It’s okay to feel beautiful.
❤️ Power and authenticity can exist together.
❤️ Play is sacred.
For the first time in my life, I treated myself to acrylic gel nails, had my hair professionally styled for the show, and embraced bold red lipstick. There is something wonderfully fun about feeling glamorous, powerful, and just a little dangerous!
Sometimes healing doesn’t happen through doing more.
Sometimes healing happens through joy.
Sometimes it happens through creativity.
Sometimes it happens through allowing ourselves to fully shine.
As we approach the Summer Solstice—the longest day of the year—I am being reminded that the light we celebrate outside of ourselves also lives within us.
This summer, I plan to celebrate close to home, enjoy some much-needed rest, and spend precious time with family. I am looking forward to a small getaway June 22–25 and returning refreshed for the beautiful gatherings ahead.
